Phase 2: Video Series on the Land

After TES Phase 1 we gathered with the knowledge holders and asked them how we should move forward. They pointed us in two directions: youth’s involvement was crucial, as well as being on the land.

TES Phase 2 aims to create an intergenerational bridge between knowledge holders and Indigenous youth. It is a documentary video series on the land, featuring interviews with Indigenous knowledge holders and youth, who will share their perspectives on the climate crisis. This effort will culminate in a community-based multi-media installation in Summer 2025.

To magnify our relationship with the knowledge holders from TES Phase 1, we are documenting one interview each season – Summer 2024 to Spring 2025 – observing the four cycles of Mother Earth.

Each interview, is facilitated by Lara and Rosemary, featuring two knowledge holders and two youth who will share their perspectives on the climate crisis and the changes they observe in their lands.

TES Phase 2 introduces Indigenous youth to the stories of knowledge holders and asks them to respond to the stories they have learned using their own experiences to reflect on the climate crisis. Working with the knowledge holders, we are hoping to bring young Indigenous perspectives into the conversations about the climate crisis.
