SUMMER is the first in a series of intergenerational multi-media short documentaries by artists Rosemary Georgeson and Lara Aysal.
Dr. Evan Adams and Dr. Lyana Patrick, are in conversation with Rosemary Georgeson about the land’s past, present, and how we want to move future.
Dr. Lyana Patrick, from the Stellat’en First Nation, has worked in communications and education for 17 years as a journalist, communications officer and documentary filmmaker. She is an assistant professor at Simon Fraser University’s Faculty of Health Sciences.
Dr. Evan Tlesla II Adams is a Coast Salish actor & physician from the Tla’amin First Nation near Powell River. He was the Deputy Provincial Health Officer for the province of BC from 2012 to 2014.
Rosemary Georgeson is a Sahtu Dene & Coast Salish playwright, filmmaker and storyteller. She was born and raised on Galiano Island and grew up in the commercial fishing industry.
Lara Aysal is an Anatolia/Turkish immigrant, climate justice and human rights activist, performance artist, and facilitator of community-oriented projects. She is the Core Artist/ Communications Director at The Only Animal Theatre Society.
